Working to develop, grow and advance the sport of tennis in memory and celebration of Deborah Love Armour.

The Armour Strong Tennis Association was formed in January 2021 in celebration and memory of Deborah Love Armour. It is because of Deb's incredible contributions to Middle Tennessee tennis that the Armour Strong Tennis Association is working in her honor with parks, tennis professionals and the greater Nashville community to promote the healthy lifestyle of tennis and to motivate our diverse community to become involved in this lifetime sport.
Deb will be remembered as a tennis icon in Nashville. She captained up to 24 teams a year for the last 7 years while working full time. That translates to more than 300 tennis players taking to the courts in 2020 alone because of her leadership.
For Deb tennis was much more than games, sets and matches won or lost. When you joined a “Deb” team, you joined a community to whatever degree you chose. And no doubt about it, you made lifelong friendships. Maybe you had played for decades, maybe you had started playing months earlier. It did not matter. Deb knew what tennis brought for her and she made that possible for thousands of others over the years.
It is in this same spirit that the Armour Strong Tennis Association strives not only to promote awareness of the benefits of the great sport of tennis but also to foster a sense of community, family, and opportunities to make lifelong friendships.
