About The Bus Lane Kids

Come out to Raising Cane's on White Bridge Pike this Saturday, October 14 from 12:00-7:00pm to help support the Bus Lane Kids Tennis Courts Project! All you have to do is mention "The Bus Lane Kids" when you order, and 15% of sales will support our cause. Get your friends together for a great day of football and Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers!

The Bus Lane Kids, founded by Andy Mizell, who for the last 6 years, has been introducing tennis to inner-city, public-school students in a free after-school program in Nashville, Tennessee, a program operated solely off of donations and volunteers. The students have absolutely fallen in love with tennis.

The kids in the program have carried flags in the United States Davis Cup match at Belmont University, they've been able to watch Division 1 college tennis matches, and they've played at Lipscomb University and Cane Ridge Park.

However, there is just one thing...all of these experiences are the closest these kids will ever get to the tennis world because the only place they ever get to play is in their school's bus lane. They set up their own nets, draw boundary lines with chalk, and still always ask, "Tennis this week? Tennis tomorrow? Tennis today?"

They have a love for tennis just like we do at ASTA, but they have an obstacle in their way -- access to courts. So, the mission of The Bus Lane Kids is to create equal opportunity for the students. To do this they are looking to raise $325,000-$450,000 to build real tennis courts and sustain their programming. The official plans have already been created and approved, and all we need now is your help to make this project come to life.

Armour Strong Tennis Association supports their mission and is dedicated to helping aid in their fundraising efforts. Join us and help us & The Bus Lane Kids show that tennis really does love all!
